W&WW: BEACH VACATION

Wewwhhh this has been one crazy year! I know I can't be the only one who feels like they have catapulted into an intense episode of the Twilight Zone. Most of us have been posted up on our couch for what seems like an eternity, and with remote routines, pajamas have turned into the essential daily attire. Social distancing has turned my hobbies into having a full blown relationship with my Netflix account, looking forward to my 5 seconds of interaction with my delivery man, and repeatedly failing to replicate Tik Tok recipes. It just never comes out the same! Am I right??

Although this year seems to have everyone extremely divided on many important topics, one thing I’m sure we can all agree on is we are all in desperate need of a much deserved vacation! With Covid, many have opted out of traveling due to the understandable risks and restrictions. However, with the correct precautions, right now could be an affordable time to get away with a lot less foot traffic.

I was able to head back to my go-to spot this holiday season, St. Maarten. To be honest, I don’t know if I was more excited for the warm weather, or just the opportunity to finally wear some of my summer outfits that I never got the chance to wear! I have a few personal preferences when it comes to vacation attire, but first, you need to decide what kind of vacation you are going on…

In my opinion, there are three types of vacations:

The Party Vacation: This is the kind of vacation where you are going to need a vacation from the vacation. You are up all night out on the town and it doesn't slow down much during the day with all of the day parties as well. The outfits are going to have to match the curriculum here. The show-up and show-out outfits. We are talking tight mini dresses, stilettos that lift you to the gods, an assortment of those “itsy bitsy tini wini yellow polka dot bikinis” as they call it, and the most sexy cover-ups you can find. Omg I have a headache even thinking about it. I must be getting old.

Next, the Tourist Vacation. This is the vacation where you want to soak up all the history, culture, cuisine, and explore the local attractions the destination has to offer. Again, there’s not much sleep on the schedule here since most tourist activities are open during specific hours, by appointment and/or fill up quickly. There will be lots of traveling on your feet all day, so comfort on this trip is key. Tank tops, shorts, sneakers and backpacks fit the description here, but guuurl you know you will make it cute!

Lastly, my personal favorite, the Relaxing Vacation. Get ready to sleep in, sunbathe the majority of the day, maybe throw a calming spa in the mix, eat a whole lot of yummy food, rinse and repeat. A vacation is called a vacation for a reason! It’s time to recharge your batteries and fill up on some good ‘ol self care and vitamin D. Since you're going to be laying out and eating almost constantly, comfort is key here as well, but let’s add some luxury into the mix. Flowy dresses, embellished sandals, wicker handbags and sun hats fit for yacht royalty. Oh yeah, that’s my kind of getaway.

Below you will find a few of my relaxing vacation outfits from my recent trip as well as some more options for all three vacation types I have discussed in this blog post. Enjoy!

As seen on me. Unfortunately, these items are out of stock but hopefully they become available again soon!
