W&WW: WEDDINGS

Celebrating love is always a good day, but who else secretly loves getting invited to weddings solely for the opportunity to get dressed up!? Guilty, and you’re not alone! It’s the everyday girls’ version of a red carpet, am I right? But how do you decide what to wear for the big reveal that’s fabulous yet appropriate for a wedding at the same time? Let’s break this down ladies:

• Try rocking a long gown! It gives the paps, oh sorry I mean onlookers ;) the opportunity to stop and really take your dress all in. It creates more of a bold statement than a shorter dress would. Longer dresses are also elongating and slimming, which is always a plus!

• Unless the bride states she approves of others wearing white, you best believe ya better steer clear from white! But this gives you the perfect opportunity to embrace bold colors! Take advantage of this! Think about what the popular color trends are that season as well as what colors work well with your skin tone and embrace it! For example this Fall/Winter a dark burgundy or mustard yellow would be so fierce! Leave the grays and blacks to the amateurs!

• This is for all the plus ones! You’re dating a guy and he invites you to a wedding. You're going to meet all his friends and family. First impressions are everything! Show a little, hide a little. Less is more when it comes to showing skin. Theres nothing sexier to a man than the unknown and a good mystery. Remember, sexy and trashy are two very different things and there’s a very fine line that separates them. If you have a deep cut slit gown, show less cleavage. If you have an open back dress, try wearing long sleeves. It’s all about having an even ratio of skin to gown.

• This really applies to any event, but think about what you are going to be doing a lot of at the event. Weddings tend to have a lot of standing, eating/drinking, and dancing and for long hours. So comfort is really important! Don’t forget to check the fabric details before ordering a dress. Fabrics that have spandex/elastane in them are your best bet. Also, heels with a platform tend to give a lot more comfort since they cut into the arch of the heel. They also add height which is great for my shorter girls out there.

One last note: Her are some staple products to keep in your clutch. Better safe than sorry.

• Mini spray mouthwash

• Lip Liner and lipstick/gloss

• You know how whenever you order from Sephora online they let you get 3 free samples? Choose the mini perfumes! Perfect for a quick freshen up that will fit in your clutch.

Weddings are a time to celebrate love and make great memories with friends and family. But don’t forget to do it in style! At the bottom of this post you’ll see I have linked the clutch goodies, my dress and more affordable alternatives as well. Just click on the pictures to go shopping. Have a great Wednesday my loves!

This is the dress I wore. It’s a bit pricy, but it’s gorgeous so I couldn’t resist.

The shoes I wore are discontinued, however this option I also love and would have actually worn if I knew of them at the time!
